The Look
The S60 has long been a tremendously stylish sedan, and the
2014 model lives up to that legacy. Its stylistic changes from the 2013 edition
are subtle, but look closely and you'll see that Volvo gave it a more refined look.
Overall, the car's appearance is a bit smoother, and the grille is wider than
before.
Volvo also removed the chrome trim from around the grille and relocated the washer fluid nozzles out of sight. In a similar vein, the radar for the car's adaptive cruise control has been hidden with a black grille line, giving the 2014 S60's front end a sleeker, more uniform appearance. The daytime running lights are now near the fog lights, while the rear exhaust tips sit flush with the back bumper.
High-Tech Additions
The 2014 S60 has some thrilling high-tech additions in the
cabin, with perhaps the most exciting new feature being the Sensus
infotainment system. Sensus is a bit different from most touchscreen-based
infotainment displays in that it can still be used while you have gloves on - rather than relying on capacitive touch like a conventional touchscreen, it
uses infrared beams to determine the area on the screen you want to interact
with. The system can access the Internet via either your smartphone or with a
USD 3G/4G card. Sensus can also function as a Wi-Fi hotspot. The 2013 S60's analog gauges have been replaced with Volvo's new Adaptive Digital Display, which uses a reconfigurable TFT screen with three selectable themes:
·   Elegance gives the appearance of a traditional instrument cluster
·   Eco gives you gauges and readings focused on maximizing your efficiency
·     Performance prominently displays a tachometer with your speed shown digitally in the center
There are also new safety features like Active High Beam Control and a Cornering Light system, which work alongside Volvo staples like City Safety and Pedestrian Detection.
